•  Any shortages must be reported and noted within 12 hours of delivery 

• All goods must also be checked for damages upon receipt. Any damage must be indicated on the delivery or within 12 hours max of delivery. If goods are signed for as received in good order (not damaged), no claim can be made against this delivery.

• All goods must be checked against the order made within 12 hours of delivery.

• Any claim in respect of the above should be made by e-mail to the southsunbiltong@gmail.com and no later than than 2 days after delivery.

• No claims will be entertained unless the above conditions are met.

• No credit or refund will be given for any goods ordered in error by the customer.

• No credit or refund will be given for any losses due to the incorrect storage of biltong. Please refer to our guide on 'Biltong Care' which can be found in the 'About' section on the website or in the 'Additional Info Section' whilst purchasing your product.

• No credit or refund will be given for any orders cancelled without the agreement of South Sun Biltong in advance and in writing.

 

Complaints: If you find that you are not satisfied with any product please contact Tom at southsunbiltong@gmail.com. We will respond to any complaints within 5 working days. We will endeavour to resolve any complaints within 14 working days.

Shipping policy

 

• All deliveries will be sent by Royal Mail. You will be given the option between 1st class and 2nd class postage. Orders will be sent out the next working day. Delivery is expected to take 1-3 days for 1st class and 2-3 days for 2nd class. If delivery has not arrived by 3 days then please contact southsunbiltong@gmail.com.

• Please note that we cannot be held responsible for delays in you receiving your orders, beyond our control. We will always do our best to get your orders to you at the informed delivery time.

Although biltong is a preserved food, it still requires a bit of love and care. The most important thing to remember, is to allow the biltong to breathe.

 

​Sliced: Sliced biltong will arrive in a sealed bag for freshness.

If you have the will power to not devour your biltong in one sitting, then we recommend you transfer your sliced biltong into a bowl. Keep the bowl in a cool, dry place and make sure to shake the bowl daily to allow fresh air to circulate between the biltong pieces.

This will prevent any mould growth in any pockets of stagnent air. Biltong will naturally get drier with each passing day.

 

​Slabs: If you are looking to savour your biltong and make it last, then biltong slabs are for you. Biltong slabs will dry much slower then sliced biltong and will retain its texture and characteristic red colour for much longer.

Biltong slabs still require access to fresh air. We recommend storing it on a chopping board. This way it will be well ventilated and ready for slicing when desire strikes. A sharp knife will be required, watch your fingers.
